Through his work as a food and travel writer, Nevin Martell began foraging in 2010. When the pandemic put his work on hold, Nevin went into the woods to discover more about himself and the world around him through this humble and ancient act. In every episode we visit somewhere new, searching for new ingredients, and meet new foragers to explore the deeper reasons why they seek out wild foods – from unique flavors and wellness benefits to social justice, sustainability, and staying connected to ancestral traditions.

When Matthew lost his job and apartment due to the pandemic, he given a second chance when Bill, the owner of a very small local pub in Washington DC, allowed him to live in the bar rent free for six months while it was closed during lockdown. The Public Option is a wacky story about the ups and downs of living in a closed down bar, but reveals itself to be an intimate portrait of a community, and a poignant story about personal growth during tragedy.
